Pros: Reasonably close to central campus, usually not excessively crowded due to five floors worth of study spaces and an expansive floor plan. Usually very quiet unless you go down to the first floor. Open until 2 AM (library that’s open the longest, along with Stacks)
Cons: Oppressive atmosphere (not too much natural sunlight); outlets are isolated around a few desks which usually have people on them already. No food allowed.
Doe Library (Main Stacks)
Pros: very welcoming atmosphere (large, expansive, many bookshelves), almost every desk has its own outlet. Very quiet unless you go during one particular night in finals week. Have the opportunity to reserve large study spaces in case you want to study with other people in private. (Also open the longest)
Cons: can get very crowded during exam season, easy to get lost within the expanses. No food allowd.
Student Learning Center
Pros: very open and expansive, lots of natural sunlight during the day. Food is allowed, and usually enough outlets that competition isn’t that big of a deal. Free tutoring is available in most subjects (Bio/Math/Econ/Chem/Physics/Writing) from 9AM-4PM.
Cons: No longer open 24/7 (closes at 10PM), can get very crowded during exam season. Can be very loud if you need a quiet study space. People also have a tendency to not clean up after themselves so be aware of that.
More study spaces coming soon!
