Where We're Coming From:
This organization was inspired by the fact that a college education should not be about competing with peers and merely obtaining a grade, but rather about working with one’s peers to pursue genuinely one’s academic interests and make the most of all that college has to offer - both intellectually and socially. Additionally, we have also recognized that most of the undergraduate, lower-division courses are not curved, and therefore, everyone can succeed as long as they work hard. One of our biggest goals is to capitalize on this principle.
Many universities, UC Berkeley being no exception, have garnered a reputation that in many disciplines, students are unable to cooperate and often hinder one another from achieving their academic goals. This unfortunate occurrence is a perversion of what the college experience should be. This organization stands firmly against this corruption and aspires to cultivate a passion for learning among UC Berkeley undergraduates.
If you'd like to know more about PEACE, there are additional links below. The one on the left is a recent presentation compiled together by PEACE's co-founder, Prerak Juthani. The presentation discusses how PEACE's online forum is intended to increase educational accessibility and allow students to learn from one another's experiences. On the other hand, the link on the right hand side redirects you to PEACE's constitution and discusses the ideology and tenets the club's conception was based on.
